How to Order Prescription Eyeglasses

Step One: The Frame Selection Process

After you have selected your frame style, select your preferred color from the frame color drop down menu. Next you would select your frame size the different frame size selection radio buttons.

HINT: Your current eyeglasses will have your size marked on them, this is usually found on the bridge between the lenses or marked on the temple piece. The numbers are in millimeters . The first number, for example 46, is the width of each lens so if you ordered a 45 each of your new lenses would be one millimeter smaller than your current glasses. The second number for example 16, is the distance between your lenses. The third number is not always marked and is the temple length this is usually a standard size since it can be easily adjusted be careful bending.

If you wish to purchase the frame only select the frame only button and then add to cart.

If you would like prescription lenses for your frames click the add prescription lenses radio button and than add to cart.

Step Two:Lenses

First determine the lens type you require, whether it be single vision or one of the multifocal lenses. You may find the more info buttons helpful in the lens type selection process. Computer lenses are specialty lenses for computer users allowing more comfortable vision using the computer. Make your selection and click on the continue button.

Choose Lens Material

The second step of the lens selection process is to determine your lens material. Plastic is a good choice for most low prescriptions. To make your lenses thinner and lighter in a higher prescription consider selecting one of the high index options. For drill mounted lenses trivex lenses ae the best choice. Polycarbonate and 1.66 high index lenses are also suitable for drill mounted lenses (lenses with holes drilled in them). Select you lens material choice than click continue.

Choose Your Lens Options

The next step allows you to select the lens treatments and options available for your specified lens material. Find tints, transitions lenses that change and polarized lenses There is more info to be found in the more info buttons.

Step 3 Select Rx Prescription Information.

This step is not as difficult as it may at first seem. Enter the sphere power for each eye. Make sure to use the correct plus (+) or minus (-) sign. If there is a cylinder power for your prescription select that if not leave the form at none. If there is no cylinder power there will be no axis. Add is for multifocal lenses and is the bifocal power. Enter you PD information if you have it.

Don't worry if you do not have your prescription We would be happy to obtain that for you. Click on the help button. Please let us know the patient's name and date of birth, along with where to call to get that information. We will include that with your order here and process your new eyewear accordingly.

If your prescription is out of our standard form's range. Please call us, we can provide you with any prescription.

If you do not have your PD information use the comments section to inform us of that. In smaller prescriptions this may not be necessary, if we do require the PD we will inform you of that. It is required for fabrication of your precription but not for the initial assembly of components so it may be included at a later date.

The fastest way to get your order completed is to use our prescription form. That way your prescription is included with your frame and lens information.
